Beware of pickpockets, warn po
Thursday, 12.17pm – PICKPOCKETS have been operating in Skegness, warn police.
Police are warning shoppers to be vigilant after two women had purses stolen yesterday, Wednesday.
At 4.05pm a woman in Lumley Road had her purse removed from her handbag, and at 5.20pm a woman’s whole handbag was lifted in Richmond Drive.
It is not known if the incidents are connected.
Insp Steve Hill, of Skegness Police Station, said: “It’s important people are aware of these two offences.
“Everyone needs to be extra vigilant regarding their personal property.
“Keep handbags closed at all times and ensure the contents aren’t on view and easily accessible to others, and just be aware of people around you, particularly in crowded areas.”
